Nabisco - WONDERS OF THE WORLD - 1960

When I first saw this trading card on eBay I thought it looked familiar, as it turns out, I had scanned it back in 2003 on a postcard published by the Ministry of Works, from a drawing by Alan Sorrell around the same time as Nabisco was distributing this Collectors Card.

Back Reads: WONDERS OF THE WORLD - STONEHENGE IN ENGLAND
For hundreds of years. people have tried to solve the mystery of Stonehenge which was built more than 3800 years ago. The people, who built it had not yet invented writing and left no evidence as to who they were or why they built it. At one time, people thought that Stonehenge was built by King Arthur's friend Marlin the Magician. Some scientists think it was used as kind of outdoor church. Excavations since 1920 indicate that it may have been a Bronze Age burying ground.
Stonehenge is a group of standing stones on Salisbury Plains Wiltshire, England and preeminent among Megalithic Monuments of the British Isles. Viewed from an airplane, you can see circles of stone. enclosed bu a circular ditch 300 feet in diameter. The stones are arranged in four series. The two outer-most of the series form circles; the third is a horseshoe shape; and the innermost is oval or egg-shaped. The outer circle is approximately 100 fret in diameter, and of the original upright stones that still remain are up to 22 feet high. Some of the stones in the outer circle have flat stones on top of them. Within the oval lies the "altar stone".
