When I first saw this image, I had no idea who Timmy Mallett was, the web browser I was using was behind a firewall and had all plugin disabled including the Flash viewer that was required to properly view his home on the web. All I saw in this crippled state, was this fantastic picture, Timmy's story of the flight, an a bunch of broken picture links. But that did not matter, it was the picture that consumed me, the rest of the page could have been blank, and mostly was, not even his Name on the top of the page did not flash at me.
Timmy story goes like this:
My mate Foxy the Capital DJ flies this old MASH helicopter and the two of us buzzed over Stonehenge playing Apocalypse Now!" "If we take the doors off, you'll get better photos" said Foxy!
It was actually a magical Mystery tour, we started off from Booker airfield near High Wycombe and less than an hour later we were dodging the rainbows over the downs with the autumn sunshine flooding across this ancient stone circle...
You can not imagine my shock the first time I saw his page with a normal browser.
The web home of the Utterly Brilliant Timmy Mallett!
is well worth the visit, even for a clueless old yank like me. How was I to guess he was a TV star. Lesson learned: always google before you attempting to communicate or chance revealing ones own total lack of knowledge in a stupid sounding e-mail.
Timmy's painting is a clasic example of a personal momento, of a profound stonehenge experiance. I plan to make a small number of Homemade commemorative postcards. My hopes are that he will allow me to share them with a few other Stonehenge collectors, yet for the contractural limitation of being a TV star combined with my in ability to generate income, the chances are slim, but there is always hope.
I plan on sending several cards to their offices anyway as personal momentos. Why, because that is what I do when I feel the need to put a effort into printing a postcard that will otherwise rot in my personal collection. It is just that kind of priceless personal momento that someday becomes Collectable.
