G. L. Pease Stonehenge Flake

This sealed 2oz collectors tin of G.L. Pease Stonehenge Flake pipe tobacco was packed 10 years ago, Oct 2001 as a Special Edition and is one of cans only 1500 produced. The blend is Virginia/Perique Flake made in England as a joint effort between G.L.Pease and Gawith Hoggarth & Co., thus the connection with Stonehenge.

While often advertized as the perfect gift for the pipe smoker in your life, or for yourself. These sealed 2 oz. tins of Pease Stonehenge Flake tobacco has become popular with Stonehenge and Tobacco collectors alike.

When Greg Pease wrote "Stonehenge Flake is a wonderful traditional flake comprised of bright flue-cured and sun-cured leaf from Brazil, Zimbabwe and Malawi, with just a touch of Malawi Burley added for a bit of body, and a slightly fuller flavor. Then, we added a hint of genuine St. James Parish perique, for its special piquant contribution. Once blended, the leaf was steamed, hot-pressed into blocks, and aged, to allow the flavors to meld and marry. The mature blocks were sliced into thin flakes, and cut into 2" lengths." I am sure he never anticipated the anti-tobacco sentiment we live with today. Now 10 years later the Stonehenge packaging has become a prized collectable and the contents, while a quality find in their own right, require a disclaimer to sell on eBay.

Just about everything you ever wanted to know about the tobacco contained within can be found at TobaccoReviews.com

Kapnismologist 2009 report, posted on The Brothers of Briar, shows Cornell & Diehl sold Stonehenge Flake for an astonishing price of $78.99 on eBay. glpease commented in a follow up, "The high for Stonehenge seems to have been ca. $122"
